Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Fractional CTO to join our team on a part-time basis (1-2 days/week). This is a 1099 contract role and will be ideal for an experienced IT leader who thrives in a hands-on technical environment while also providing strategic oversight and mentorship. You’ll support and enhance our IT infrastructure, guide technology initiatives, and ensure systems meet evolving business needs.

Essential Duties:

• Provide expert-level support for infrastructure, network, and systems administration (e.g. Windows, cloud environments) to ensure compliance, availability, and performance.

• Lead or advise on IT strategy, architecture decisions, and digital transformation efforts.

• Oversee or support cybersecurity measures, compliance, and risk management.

• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to implement technological solutions.

• Mentor IT staff and contribute to knowledge transfer and training.

• Monitor systems performance, recommend upgrades, and troubleshoot complex issues.

• Continuously identify needs and vulnerabilities in IT space and implement solutions to mitigate risks.

• Assist with IT budgeting, vendor negotiations, and lifecycle planning.

Essential Qualifications:

• 15+ years in IT roles with progressive responsibility.

• Proven experience in systems administration, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), and enterprise-level IT operations.

• Strong understanding of IT security frameworks and risk management practices.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CISSP or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.

• Previous experience in startups, SMBs, or consulting environments.
