Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care to surgical patients, specifically those requiring trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopaedic care.
- Performing patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Managing patient care within a fast-paced operating room environment.
- Participating in on-call rotation.
- Floating between similar units as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of two years of hospital experience.
- Experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopaedic nursing.
- BLS certification.
- Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities are shared equally among staff, potentially involving 6-8 shifts every 6 weeks (including nights, evenings, and weekends).
- The ability to float between similar units is required.
- Block scheduling may be accommodated at the manager's discretion.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Weekend work is required.
- Return to work (RTO) must be included at time of submission.
Scheduling:
- Variable start times of 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
- Shift length is 8 hours.
- On-call rotation is every 6 weeks.
- Specific shift assignments and scheduling details will be determined by the manager.
