Senior Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager

Join a Fortune 500 food manufacturing leader as their next Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager at our Indianapolis facility. In this key leadership role, you'll drive food safety excellence, regulatory compliance, and quality initiatives while leading a dedicated team of quality professionals.

Position Overview

As a vital member of our plant leadership team, you'll oversee comprehensive quality and food safety programs for our 330-employee facility, managing both direct and indirect reports while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of plant food safety and quality programs, including HACCP, SQF, and FSMA compliance
• Lead and develop a team of 12 quality professionals (2 direct, 10 indirect reports)
• Serve as primary liaison for regulatory audits and customer quality initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement in quality metrics and food safety programs
• Manage quality-related training programs and documentation
• Oversee environmental monitoring and sanitation effectiveness
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support new product launches
• Maintain compliance with USDA, FDA, and CFIA regulations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field
• 7+ years of food manufacturing quality assurance experience
• Proven leadership experience in food safety and team management
• Expert knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, and SQF standards
• Strong understanding of food microbiology and allergen control
• Excellence in root cause analysis and problem-solving
