We're hiring a reliable and process-driven painter who is comfortable talking with clients to understand their needs. Our painters perform a variety of duties, including scaffold assembly, sanding down old paint, filling in drywall holes, mixing paint, and painting interior or exterior walls. Our ideal candidate has previous work experience as a house and industrial painter and is comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools to get the job done. Responsibilities: • Mix paint or stains to customer’s specification • Treat painted surfaces with primer or sealer • Cover trim, fixtures, furniture, and floors to protect them from paint • Get surfaces ready to be painted by sanding away old paint and filling holes and cracks with putty • Tidy the work area once the painting project is complete • Protect trim, floors, fixtures, and furniture from paint using drop cloths and covers • Repair small drywall patches • Maintain a neat and tidy work area Qualifications: • Applicant must have valid driver’s license • Experience with painting tools and techniques is a big plus, but we are willing to train on the job for motivated candidates • Preference for candidates with 2+ years work experience and completed apprenticeship, but not required • High school diploma or GED preferred • Stamina, standing for long periods of time, dexterity, and physical strength is required • Must live within 50 miles of Auburn Hills, Michigan, to be considered for this position • Minimum 1-2 years of professional painting experience (residential and/or commercial preferred) • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and proper use of brushes, rollers, and sprayers • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools, ladders, and scaffolding • Experience with drywall patching, sanding, caulking, taping, and priming surfaces • Understanding of different paint types and finishes, including interior/exterior applications • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship • Ability to follow job site safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines • Ability to work independently or as part of a team • Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with clients and coworkers • Willingness to work a consistent full-time schedule year-round About Company: Since 1986, Concraft has provided emergency restoration and reconstruction services throughout the Greater Detroit Metro Area and Southeast Michigan.
