Position Summary

Bent Oak Golf Club is seeking a skilled and passionate Horticulturist to join our team for the 2026 season. This position focuses on the planning, installation, and maintenance of all ornamental plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs on the golf course property. The ideal candidate will have strong plant knowledge, an eye for design, and the ability to maintain high standards of horticultural care in a professional golf course setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, plant, and maintain ornamental beds, trees, shrubs, and seasonal flowers throughout the property.

• Implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to control diseases, insects, and weeds.

• Prune, fertilize, and care for trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth and aesthetics.

• Collaborate with the golf course superintendent and grounds crew to integrate horticulture with overall course maintenance.

• Assist in landscape renovations, planting designs, and seasonal displays.

• Operate horticultural tools and equipment safely (pruners, trimmers, sprayers, etc.).

• Monitor plant health and report issues promptly.

• Ensure the horticultural areas are visually appealing and meet Bent Oak Golf Club’s high standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in horticulture, landscaping, or golf course ornamental maintenance preferred.

• Strong knowledge of plants, flowers, shrubs, trees, soil management, and pest control.

• Ability to operate horticultural equipment safely.

• Attention to detail and pride in maintaining high-quality landscapes.

• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and in varying weather conditions.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
