As H&R Block continues to expand support to our tax preparers assisting taxpayers with filing accurate tax return and obtaining the best tax result possible, our team is looking for individuals to work with us during tax season providing best-in-class assistance to Block branded tax professionals.   

 

In this role, you will work with H&R Block tax preparers via our online submission systems to provide answers to the legal and regulatory issues encountered when preparing individual, business, estate, and trust tax returns. You will use your research and writing skills to provide accurate and detailed responses to complex tax questions. Your responses will support H&R Block tax preparers seeking assistance with their preparation of federal, international and state/local tax returns during the upcoming 2025 tax season.  

 

We are looking for seasonal associates familiar with tax laws and with outstanding research and writing skills. The Associate will be responsible for answering inquiries from our tax preparers in the field via our online submission system. The ideal candidate will bring successful experience with research and writing, substantial knowledge of tax law or tax return preparation. The candidate should be independent yet able to work as a member of a team to achieve team goals and objectives.  

 

Extensive training, computer equipment, and ongoing support is provided, and fully remote working is acceptable.  

Day to day, you’ll… 

  • Provide accurate and professional written responses to complex tax law and procedure questions sent to us by our tax professionals in the field
  • Use research tools and databases, etc. to research tax law and regulatory issues
  • Work with teammates and team leads to ensure compliance with service level agreements
  • Provide best in class customer service striving to provide clear, prompt, and accurate assistance 
  • Demonstrate teamwork and “curious” mindset
  • Maintain current tax knowledge
What you'll bring to the team...:
  • Current JD or CPA certification or an appropriate/equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • 3 or more years of professional legal or accounting experience - tax preparation or research experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to research complex tax situations and communicate results in an easily understood manner
  • Willingness to learn new information and skills and to be coached
  • Willingness to work independently and to seek assistance when necessary
  • Possess computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Software
  • Access to high-speed internet service

Pay Range Information: The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Pay Range: $21.59 - $32.40/Hr.
