Job Description

A leading homebuilder is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support daily financial operations. This role will involve performing essential accounting tasks, assisting with month-end close, and contributing to financial accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills and a foundation in accounting principles, with experience in the construction or real estate industry being a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses to ensure accurate financial records.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Help maintain effective internal controls and adhere to established policies and procedures.
• Conduct variance analyses and support budget and forecast activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide insights to support accurate financial data.
• Assist with external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction or real estate industry.
• Proficiency with accounting software; experience with ERP systems a plus.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
