Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000
Knowesis, is currently seeking Technical Writers with specific experience in developing benefit manuals to join our team providing support to the Defense Health Agency.
The writer will participate as a team member, in the production, enhancement, and maintenance of the TRICARE Manuals, to include development, editing, publication, and notification of manual changes. Assessments, collection of required changes, estimation of change costs, generation and coordination of change drafts, collection of comments, staffing of approval packages, and distribution to publishing.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Research highly technical subject matter.
- Organizes information from multiple sources and expresses technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers.
- Create various weekly, biweekly, and monthly reports.
- Draft, expand, refine, and edit architecture documents, technical concepts, or solutions into an easy to read, comprehensive, compliant, and compelling document.
- Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and management ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and government regulations.
- Interact with the customer and technical team members for content development.
- Compliance with government style guides
Required Qualifications: - 3-7 years of experience developing manuals for benefits or healthcare plans
- Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Word and Adobe or other desktop publishing software
- Demonstrated ability to manage document control and versioning
Desired Qualifications: - 508 Compliance
- Previous experience in developing manuals for large healthcare plans
Required Education: - Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, English, Journalism or Communications
