Job Description
Overview: We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer for a short-term contract (approximately 90 days). This role will focus on creating onboarding and knowledge management content while establishing documentation standards that improve long-term efficiency and scalability for our support organization.
Key Responsibilities: - Devote ~25% of time to supporting the onboarding team by creating self-paced onboarding materials, helping transition to a blended onboarding model (50% self-paced / 50% guided).
- Devote ~75% of time to establishing documentation standards, migrating remaining KB articles, and upscaling/standardizing all knowledge base (KB) content.
- Ensure standardized documentation covers at least 80% of Tier-1 and Tier-2 support processes.
- Develop templates, guidelines, and governance for knowledge management documentation.
- Collaborate with onboarding, support, and technical teams to capture accurate and consistent information.
- Leverage ServiceNow Knowledge Management to build and maintain structured content.
Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in IT services or support environments.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Knowledge Management strongly preferred.
- Strong writing, editing, and documentation skills with attention to clarity and consistency.
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS formatting is a plus (used within ServiceNow), but not required.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and quickly adapt to new processes and tools.
