Job Description

Embark on a critical journey as a Sterile Processing Tech in Rochester, New York, starting on 01/12/2026. In this role, you’ll safeguard patient safety by ensuring every instrument and device that passes through the sterility chain meets exacting standards. Your meticulous work supports OR teams, anesthesia, and surgeons, helping facilities deliver safe, high-quality care each day. This assignment offers more than a job; it's a chance to elevate your profession while contributing to a compassionate, patient-centered system. Separately, you can appreciate New York’s beautiful places—from the Finger Lakes wine country to the Adirondack vistas and the revitalized riverfronts of Rochester—reflecting a state of dynamic contrasts and endless exploration.

Based in Rochester, you’ll enjoy the benefits of a thriving upstate community with rich arts, education, parks, and healthcare networks. The area offers a balanced lifestyle, four seasons of outdoor activities, and easy access to major Northeast hubs. For those who crave variety, this program also provides opportunities to work at partner facilities across the United States, broadening your clinical exposure, sharpening your adaptability, and expanding your professional network. You’ll experience a supportive community that values precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement, with the chance to contribute to a robust network of sterilization services while enjoying a base that blends historical charm with modern conveniences.

Your primary responsibilities will include decontaminating instruments, inspecting and assembling trays, performing sterilization using validated methods, maintaining meticulous instrument logs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as AAMI and hospital policies. You’ll collaborate with sterile processing teams to streamline workflows, reduce turnaround times, and support OR readiness. The role includes ongoing training, cross-training in instrument counting, tray assembly, and instrument repair as needed, with chances to advance into senior technician roles or a supervisory track as contracts extend. In addition, the program offers a competitive compensation package with a weekly pay range of $943-$967, a sign-on bonus, and housing assistance to ease relocation and lodging during assignments. Extension opportunities are common for successful performers who demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a commitment to quality. You’ll receive comprehensive, 24/7 support while traveling with the company, including access to on-call clinical liaisons, travel coordination help, and real-time assistance should any issue arise on site. The role is designed to be flexible within a weeks-based duration framework, allowing you to gain diverse experiences while maintaining focus on accuracy, traceability, and patient safety.

From the outset, you’ll be immersed in a culture that values precision and patient-centered care, while also investing in your professional growth. The hands-on responsibilities are matched by a structured pathway for certifications, mentorship from experienced leaders, and access to continuing education that keeps you at the forefront of sterile processing standards. This position not only reinforces your technical expertise but also strengthens your leadership capabilities as you demonstrate accountability, communicate effectively with OR teams, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. You’ll join a mission-driven organization that recognizes the essential role you play in reducing infection risk and supporting high-stakes, life-saving procedures across diverse clinical settings.

At our core, the company is dedicated to empowering staff, offering clear career progression paths, mentorship, and ongoing support in a collaborative work environment. You’ll find a culture that respects your expertise, celebrates your contributions, and invests in your well-being as you navigate travel assignments and home-base routines. The emphasis on open communication, safety, and continuous improvement creates a foundation where you can build a sustainable, rewarding career while delivering optimal patient outcomes and transforming the efficiency of sterile processing operations.

Ready to elevate your sterile processing career while exploring diverse environments and making a real difference? Apply now to join a team that recognizes your expertise and invests in your growth. Seize this opportunity to contribute to critical patient care, expand your professional horizons, and enjoy the benefits that come with extended, supported assignments in a dynamic travel program. Note: The hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
