Description The Cost Accounting Analyst will be primarily responsible for managing the month-end closing and financial reporting for Southern California manufacturing sites, including account analysis and reconciliations. In partnership with site leadership, will monitor inventory reserves, support monthly forecasts, and resolve inventory variances. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: § Lead the month-end closing and financial reporting process for Southern California manufacturing locations, including account analysis, journal entry preparation/approval, and reconciliation. § Conduct formal monthly review meetings with manufacturing and finance management to discuss plant performance. § Monitor and reconcile inventory reserves, including inventory shrink and obsolescence. § Support the creation and updating of monthly forecasts. § Collaborate with the business to participate in ongoing cycle counts, ensuring the accuracy of inventory counts, analyzing results, performing book-to-physical reconciliations, investigating variances, and resolving issues through root-cause analysis. § Assist in or lead special projects as necessary. § Travel locally up to 10%. Bachelor's degree preferred. § Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required, preferably supporting multiple sites including performing cost accounting duties. § Good understanding of costing methodologies including cost accounting and costing systems. § Experience with large, automated accounting and reporting systems (Oracle and HFM preferred), including data extraction and report compilation. Skills and Abilities: § Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint required. § Advanced proficiency in Excel required. Experience with Tableau highly preferred. § Proficient English verbal and written communications skills required. § Good English presentation and technical writing skills required. § Confidence to take initiative and be resourceful when completing work assignments that required a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment is required. § Detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks / projects with strong analytical / problem solving skills is required. § Effective collaboration skills, able to work in a team environment across multiple functions required. § Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness in completing assignments with urgency in a fast-paced environment required. § Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks/projects required. § Quick decision-making skills in ambiguous situations required.
