Rust Belt Resources has partnered with a leading regional law firm looking to add an experienced Legal Assistant to its Washington, D.C office. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for providing support to Attorneys, Shareholders, and Paralegals, and will work within a team of other Assistants. The ideal candidate has experience as a Legal Assistant and thrives in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Provide administrative support to 3-5 attorneys at the firm
• Draft pleadings and correspondence
• Process new client matters, coordinate new file opening, and maintain client files
• Review billing and enter attorneys’ time entries
• File documents at state and federal levels, including e-filing
• Provide administrative support with scheduling court dates, travel, etc
• Responding promptly and efficiently to all communications
• Working collaboratively in a team with other assistants and staff
Skills and Qualifications:
• 1+ year experience as an Administrative or Legal Assistant at a law firm or related organization
• Excellent computer skills; MS Office Suite and Outlook, etc
• Customer service mindset and pleasant attitude on phone
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
• A client-focused attitude, flexibility, and the ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively
• Ability to strictly maintain client and firm confidentiality
• Able to pass an employment background screening
Salary - negotiable based on experience/strong market rate
