THE ROLE:  

 

In this high-profile role, you will be the program leader for key en gineering initiatives from concept to execution. You will work across all of e ngineering and b usiness to meet overall initiative and/or product objectives.   

 

THE PERSON:  

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, an outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software /hardware programs, you will also drive a schedule for business planning towards growth that align to business strategy  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 

  • Defines, plans and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance  
  • Scope technical feasibility of new Products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads and E ngineers  
  • Develop program schedule by considering various Driver, SW Stack components and HW/FW dependencies, negotiate and create a s taffing p lan that supports the schedule  
  • Building , creating, and maintaining a well-developed, managed and executed program plan is critical  
  • You will establish formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs  
  • Excellence in resource planning
  • The successful candidate must also plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs  
  • Being comfortable working with senior executives. You must address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Engineering, Product Management and Customer Engineering organizations  

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

 

  • Good understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and defect management  
  • Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items  
  • Able to communicate concepts and processes with stakeholders  
  • Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis  
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment and competing priorities and tight turnaround times  
  • Engineering background preferred  
  • Experience with Microsoft Project , JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset  
  • Experience with Agile methodology  

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering , Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Project Management education, PMP or equivalent certification/training
