Senior Tax CPA – Lead the Tax Department at Cummins Worldwide

Location: Clearwater, FL
Schedule: Mon–Fri | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM | In-Office

About Cummins Worldwide:

Cummins Worldwide is a management organization built to support and grow other companies.
We provide professional services in accounting, bookkeeping, financial planning, corporate compliance, recruitment, and policy development—helping businesses operate at the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

We don’t just offer jobs — we offer long-term careers.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Certified Public Accountant (CPA) specializing in taxation to lead our Tax Department.

This role goes beyond tax filing. It’s about strategy, leadership, and excellence — overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and compliance of all client tax work while mentoring junior accountants and ensuring that every return reflects the highest professional standard.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of professional experience handling business and personal tax filings, including trusts, and is confident managing tax return amendments. This person values precision, long-term commitment, and wants a place to call home for the next decade or more.

Why You’ll Love It Here:

  • Early Schedule: Work 7 AM–3 PM, Monday to Friday — start early and enjoy your afternoons.

  • In-Office Role: Based in Clearwater, FL — minutes from the beach and local business centers.

  • High-Level Impact: Lead tax strategy and compliance for high-net-worth clients and multi-entity businesses.

  • Leadership Role: Mentor juniors and ensure 100% accuracy of all tax data filed with clients and the IRS.

  • Career Stability: We want this to be your long-term home — not just another job.

  • Competitive Compensation: We reward excellence and experience.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the Tax Department, including oversight of junior tax staff.

  • Conduct and review business, personal, and trust tax filings with precision and compliance.

  • Implement strategic tax planning and forecasting to minimize liabilities and optimize financial performance.

  • Perform quality control checks on all tax work to ensure complete accuracy.

  • Review and interpret financial statements; create, finalize, and file accurate tax forms with the IRS.

Core Competencies:

Tax Expertise & Leadership

  • Active CPA license required.

  • Minimum 8 years of professional tax experience.

  • Deep understanding of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust taxation.

  • Experience with tax amendments and strategic tax planning.

  • Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior accountants.

Communication & Professionalism

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Comfortable speaking with executives and high-net-worth clients.

  • Positive, cheerful, and solutions-oriented approach.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are a creator — someone who enjoys building and improving systems, mentoring others, and developing standard operating procedures.
You bring accuracy, creativity, and long-term vision to everything you do.
You want to build something that lasts — a tax department known for its precision, integrity, and care.
